Kevin Greenhill – Parent Governor
My wife and I have lived in Haddenham since 2015 and our son started at the School in September 2022. I was elected as a Parent Governor shortly afterwards, with our daughter then joining Little Forest Friends pre-school in April 2023.
I have recently completed a 22-year career as an Engineer Officer in the Royal Air Force, primarily focussed on aircraft maintenance, safety and personnel management. With little previous experience in the education sector, I aim to bring a fresh perspective in my role as a Parent Governor, constructively questioning and challenging how things are currently done and applying my background in problem-solving and keeping things ‘practical’ to drive further improvements to an already great school.
Jason Hewitt – Parent Governor
I have lived in the area since 2009 and in Bucks since 1989. My daughter joined St Mary’s with great excitement in the Autumn of 2021.
As a Parent Governor who is not from an educational background, I first intend to understand the workings of the School and then, where possible, to offer my support and guidance to the Head and her Team. I take on the role as a critical objective opinion from a person with experience, primarily in the business sector as an entrepreneur.
My goal is to ensure your children and mine receive the highest standard of education available for this significant start in life and for them to enjoy their experiences safely.
Rev Cassa Messervy – Foundation Governor
I became vicar of St. Mary’s Church in Haddenham and rector for the Wychert Vale Benefice in April 2021. Before ministry I was a primary school teacher in Oxford, Abingdon and Aylesbury. I have served as a governor at St. John Fisher School in Oxford, Beaconsfield High School and Seer Green CE School. I am passionate about education and relish the opportunity to use my skills and experience as a teacher to support the school as a foundation governor. I am married to Myles and we have three secondary age daughters. When I am not busy with ministry or running around after her children I love to run long distances.
Angie Day – Staff Governor

Angie Day
I joined Haddenham St Mary’s as a Finance Officer back in 2008 having worked in industry for 15 years and I haven’t looked back. My role has grown considerably since that time and I can honestly say that every day is never the same! I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work in such a caring, dynamic and community-centred school. I was a parent governor at my children’s local primary school for 8 years and hope to be able to draw on that experience together with my knowledge of Haddenham St Mary’s to support decisions to provide wonderful learning opportunities for all the children in our care.
Jon Smith – Co-opted Governor
All three of our daughters went to St Mary’s. They were very happy there and it was a great start to their education. We live close by and it still makes me smile to hear the children in the playground. I have spent most of my career working for Oxford Open Learning which provides distance-learning GCSE and A Level courses, mainly for adults who missed out on part of their schooling. Although the students and the curriculum are very different from St Mary’s it is surprising how many similarities there are.
Scott Fawcett – Co-opted Governor
My wife Susie and I moved to Haddenham in 2011 and our daughter, Sophie, joined the school this year. My working life has been spent in the real estate sector, specifically within the field of property investment. As a partner at Drivers Jonas I oversaw the in-house fund management business, advising a wide variety of investors on buying and selling assets throughout the UK, and advised on the property investment portfolio of Christ’s Hospital school where I later worked as Property Director. I now oversee the strategic management of the £450m Property Income Trust for Charities with the aim of enhancing the value of the fund. I hope that I have developed a good understanding of some of the pressures faced by the charity and education sectors and that this will prove beneficial in my role as a governor over the coming years.
Karen Collett – Headteacher

Karen Collett – Headteacher
I have been in the teaching profession for over 17 years and have taught in London, Turkey, Prestwood and Aylesbury. I feel so lucky to be leading Haddenham St Mary’s. Not only is it, in my opinion the most beautiful school in the county but I have such dedicated and hard- working staff, and a really strong team of governors. I very much enjoy being part of the village community, of which I feel the school is an integral part. Last but not least are our wonderful children. Their education is not a rehearsal so they deserve the very best and I will endeavour to ensure that their school ‘sparkles’ in every way!
Janet Sharp – Co-opted Governor

Janet Sharp – Co-opted Governor
I have been involved in the life of St Mary’s since 1985 as parent, teacher and governor. I have two grown up children and four young grandchildren. I am delighted to be part of the St Mary’s team. We have a well-earned reputation for providing an excellent education with high standards in a happy, caring and fun environment. I am the Special Needs Governor and am a member of the Health and Safety Committee. My aim is that all our children and their parents enjoy their time at St Mary’s and take away very happy memories which help them to carry on learning to their full potential.
Gaynor Bull – Local Authority Governor – Chairman
My association with St Mary’s began in September 1998 when the first of my three children joined the school. After involvement in school through PTA activities I became a Parent Governor in October 2000 and changed to Local Authority Governor in October 2008. I have undertaken responsibilities on the Finance, School Improvement and Admissions Committees, became Vice Chair in 2006 and took on the role of Chairman in September 2007. Being a governor gives me the chance to actively support the school in providing the best possible environment for all St Mary’s children, within the challenging and ever changing world of education.
