Assessment

We have a very thorough assessment programme to ensure that each child reaches their maximum potential. We have adopted the Assessment Without Levels approach to assess children. Children are monitored carefully to ensure that they are achieving the highest possible standards and are on track to achieve the Age Related outcomes at the end of the relevant year.

Our in school assessment system ensures that children are assessed termly in phonics and in the main core subjects to track progress and support each child.

We ensure that you are consistently updated on your child’s learning and progress by offering regular parents’ evenings. These meetings provide an opportunity for you to meet with teachers, discuss your child’s achievements, and address any questions or concerns. Our goal is to maintain an open line of communication, ensuring that you are fully involved in your child’s educational journey and that we work together to support their continued growth and development.

EYFS

We teacher assess children at the end of EYFS according to the Early Learning Goals.

In EYFS, we invite parents to actively engage with our home communication app, Tapestry. This user-friendly app provides you with a window into your child’s learning journey while they’re at school, allowing you to view their progress and achievements. Additionally, Tapestry empowers you to share moments of learning and development from home, fostering a strong connection between home and school. Through this collaborative platform, we ensure that parents are an integral part of their child’s educational experience, supporting and celebrating their growth every step of the way.

KS1

At the end of Key Stage 1 the Year 2 children are teacher assessed in reading, writing, Maths and science.

In Year 1 children sit the statutory Year 1 Phonics Screening check.
