Learning Outside
Learning Outside allows children to develop confidence, independence, self-esteem, awareness and knowledge of the natural environment. This fully supports our vision, values and aims: Excellence, care and fun for all.
At Haddenham St Mary’s, our Outdoor Learning sessions offer a nurturing and safe space that prioritises our children’s wellbeing. These sessions provide positive, child-led experiences in a natural environment, allowing children to engage with the world around them in a meaningful way. Through regular participation in forest school activities, no matter the weather, children have the opportunity to develop their self-esteem, take ownership of their learning, and connect with nature. Our Outdoor Learning encourages creativity, confidence, and resilience, while also fostering teamwork and cooperation. As children explore the outdoors, they learn to show care and respect for the world around them, making these experiences essential for their personal growth and development
We pride ourselves at Haddenham St Mary’s on our beautiful and extensive grounds. We take every opportunity to use these and provide opportunities for learning outside. Learning about ‘how to look after our environment’ is a fundamental part of our curriculum.
